Empowering families through music and community connection
Welcome
Songs to build a
better world for all
Through lullabies, music and singing, we build.
We build futures of individuals, families, and children.
We build connections across our communities.
We build bridges between cultures and beliefs.
We build memories that will last a lifetime.
Welcome to the Lullaby Project Australia:
Songs to build a better world for all.

Originating in New York, the Lullaby Project sees pregnant women and new mothers and fathers collaborate with professional artists, as they write and sing personal lullabies for their babies. Supporting maternal health and strengthening the bond between parent and child, the project now reaches parents in healthcare settings, homeless shelters, high schools, foster care, and correctional facilities across the world.
The Project
First ever Lullaby Project
in Australia
The Lullaby Project Australia was the first of its kind to be established in the country, piloted at four venues across the Onkaparinga region of South Australia in 2019. Culminating in a highly moving and joyous community celebration concert, 25 newly composed lullabies were released into the world, performed by parent song-writers alongside internationally acclaimed ensembles Zephyr Quartet, Aurora Vocal Ensemble and a team of world-class Teaching Artists.

Vision and Scope
This program was developed through a collaboration of multiple partners who all acknowledge the power of music to improve the lives of individuals and communities.
Beyond the initial project period, The Lullaby Project Australia sits within an ongoing broader strategy to increase access to quality music education for all young people, by embedding best-practice Early Years Music opportunities across community services and programs. With the support of SA Department of Human Services, Connecting the Dots in Music is currently leading a period of community consultation and program development to grow the project's reach across diverse communities around South Australia and beyond.
