Lullabies of the Fleurieu
Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Yankalilla
March-May 2022
New lullabies to celebrate families, connections, place and culture across the South Australian Fleurieu Peninsula
Three towns across the Fleurieu region recently became designated Lullaby Project Australia locations. Parents and caregivers came together to collectively compose a series of Community Lullabies in collaboration with specially-trained Lullaby Project artists. Songs reflect and celebrate the local community and area - a lifelong gift for all local young children and families.
During these workshops, participants have explored the songwriting process and learned steps to create their very own personal lullaby, using the Lullaby Project Australia's A Song For Your Child booklet. Specially trained Lullaby Artists have supported parents/carers to create their own personal lullaby.
These newly written community lullabies are now being arranged and finalised in preparation for local celebration performances in Yankalilla (May 1) and Goolwa (May 8). Families and professional musicians will present a performance of new lullabies. Selected songs will be collated and printed into a Lullabies of the Fleurieu songbook, featuring illustrations, songs and text by members of the local community.

"I have been taking part in the lullaby project and have found it incredibly therapeutic and reignited a passion of mine that has been buried since becoming a mum. Thank you, I hope this continues to run… it is so beneficial beyond words."
