Lullabies of the Fleurieu
Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Yankalilla
March-June 2022
New lullabies to celebrate families, connections, place and culture across the South Australian Fleurieu Peninsula
Three towns across the Fleurieu region recently became designated Lullaby Project Australia locations. Parents and caregivers came together to collectively compose a series of Community Lullabies in collaboration with specially-trained Lullaby Project artists. Songs reflect and celebrate the local community and area - a lifelong gift for all local young children and families.
During these workshops, participants explored the songwriting process and created their very own personal lullaby, supported by a team of Lullaby Project artists.
These newly written community lullabies were performed in community performances at Goolwa and Yankalilla across the month of May. A series of recording sessions at Palomino Sound Recorders saw participants collaborate with Lullaby Artists to record their own lullabies for all the hear and enjoy. The final step in the process was to collate all the lyrics into a community songbook, Lullabies of the Fleurieu - a gift to families to share, sing and celebrate for generations to come.

"I have been taking part in the Lullaby Project and have found it incredibly therapeutic and reignited a passion of mine that has been buried since becoming a mum. Thank you, I hope this continues to run…
it is so beneficial beyond words."
